Shadi Kafi is…

an educator and writer based in Denver, Colorado. Born to Iranian parents, and raised in the diverse community of Sugar Land, Texas, she appreciates the melting pot of cultures that inspires her storytelling. She is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas and Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and has lived in Houston, Texas and Rochester, New York. She holds a BA and Juris Doctorate.

Her debut picture book, Peanut Butter and Jahan will be published in Spring 2027 by Lantana Publishing. When Shadi is not writing, you can find her sharing stories on stage with Denver’s longest running BIPOC improv team, District 9.
